Smudging for Anxiety and Depression
After years of personal research on my healing journey, I started experimenting with the power of smokes. I would have my apartment filled with smoke all day, experimenting with a different resin, herb or wood each month and documenting my findings. I noticed that the days that I struggled with anxiety and/or depression I was able to find relief when I lit frankincense.
Later I came across a great article of a study on frankincense that confirmed this great findings!
"Burning frankincense (resin from the Boswellia plant) activates poorly understood ion channels in the brain to alleviate anxiety or depression. This suggests that an entirely new class of depression and anxiety drugs might be right under our noses."
